Digital Heritage Project 2009 - 2011
Menter Caerffili is starting an exciting new project to record our area’s heritage in the form of digital stories
Funded by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project aims to capture the individual experiences of the area’s people and their families.
The area has changed so much over the years, from an agricultural area, to and industrial one, and later to the place we recognise today.
The old tradition of relating the stories of our forefather’s is disappearing, and we are losing so many unique stories – tales from the area’s individuals: your family’s stories perhaps.
What do you remember about growing up in the area? Did you do a job that has since disappeared? What changes have you seen in the area? Do you have memories of the War, or the coal industry? What did you do in a snowy winter or hot summer? Have you returned to the area after moving away? Do you remember hearing stories about older members of your family?
Now you can preserve these memories by making a digital story? We will be holding workshops across the County Borough to enable people to record snippets of their history or that of their families. You don’t need any computing experience or techological skills, we will be there to help you.
Don’t keep your stories to yourself register here to make a digital story!
